Hi, I'm Mya.

I'm a recent graduate from the University of Washington with a  B.A. in Communication and a minor in Diversity. I am also a transfer student from Santiago Canyon College in Orange, California, where I spent two years to graduate with three Associate Degrees in the Arts including: Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Communication. I am passionate about digital and print media communication, ethnic minority and cultural activism, art, theatre, photography, travel, as well as mental health awareness. Currently, I also manage my own small business called Paper Puso (translated from Tagalog to English as "Paper Heart") where I sell postcard prints and stickers of my collage work.

Throughout my education, I have discovered that at the heart of every business, system, organization, and community is an innate desire for human connection. As a student with experience studying communication and diversity, I am constantly learning and re-learning the importance of intersectional awareness and accessibility within all communities; both crucial commodities for the well-being of the collective. These are areas of passion that I have not only learned throughout my academic education and identity as a young Filipina American woman, but also as a daughter, sister, friend, cousin, auntie, artist, student, worker, and activist.

The importance of communication lies in the fact that every person has a story waiting to be told. In this space, connection is not only essential; it's inevitable.
